Favor of God

10 Benefits of God’s Favor

These are notes I made 6 August 1997 at the Southwest Believer’s Convention while listening to Jerry Savelle, he titled the sermon “How to get out of Lodebar”

Covenant is a very serious thing. Give your very best to covenant partners.

And it came to pass, when he had made an end of speaking unto Saul, that the soul of Jonathan was knit with the soul of David, and Jonathan loved him as his own soul. And Saul took him that day, and would let him go no more home to his father’s house. Then Jonathan and David made a covenant, because he loved him as his own soul. (1 Samuel 18:1-3, KJV).

We have a covenant relationship with God. Johnathan had the best, he gave it to David, what did David have? Nothing.

And David said, Is there yet any that is left of the house of Saul, that I may shew him kindness for Jonathan’s sake? (2 Samuel 9:1, KJV).

Kindness is a covenant word. Lodebar means no hope, no fruitfullness, a God forsaken place, not a place for a child of a living God.

But the king spared Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan the son of Saul, because of the LORD’S oath that was between them, between David and Jonathan the son of Saul. (2 Samuel 21:7, KJV).

From the pit to the palace. That’s the favor of God.

Among Righteous is favor
Fools make a mock at sin: but among the righteous there is favour. (Proverbs 14:9, KJV).

Favour to compass them
But let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them: let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee. For thou, LORD, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield. (Psalms 5:11,12, KJV).

In His favour is life, zoe, superior in quality
For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning. And in my prosperity I said, I shall never be moved. LORD, by thy favour thou hast made my mountain to stand strong: thou didst hide thy face, and I was troubled. (Psalms 30:5,7, KJV).

We have heard with our ears, O God, our fathers have told us, what work thou didst in their days, in the times of old. (Psalms 44:1, KJV).

For thou art the glory of their strength: and in thy favour our horn shall be exalted. (Psalms 89:17, KJV).

By this I know that thou favourest me, because mine enemy doth not triumph over me. (Psalms 41:11, KJV).

Remember me, O LORD, with the favour that thou bearest unto thy people: O visit me with thy salvation; (Psalms 106:4, KJV).

There is a set time for the favour of God, it is on God’s agenda before the appearing of Jesus Christ.
Thou shalt arise, and have mercy upon Zion: for the time to favour her, yea, the set time, is come. (Psalms 102:13, KJV).
So the heathen shall fear the name of the LORD, and all the kings of the earth thy glory. When the LORD shall build up Zion, he shall appear in his glory. (Psalms 102:15-16, KJV).

Now we will experience God in immeasurable riches.
That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. (Ephesians 2:7, KJV).

Great grace was on them all. The conception of the church has a great grace on it.
And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all. (Acts 4:33, KJV).

You and I are headed towards favour like no other.

10 major confessions of the benefits of walking in favour

1. Supernatural increase and promotion
But the LORD was with Joseph, and shewed him mercy, and gave him favour in the sight of the keeper of the prison. (Genesis 39:21, KJV).

2. Restoration of everything enemy has taken from you
And I will give this people favour in the sight of the Egyptians: and it shall come to pass, that, when ye go, ye shall not go empty: (Exodus 3:21, KJV).

3. Honor even in midst of adversaries
And the LORD gave the people favour in the sight of the Egyptians. Moreover the man Moses was very great in the land of Egypt, in the sight of Pharaoh’s servants, and in the sight of the people. (Exodus 11:3, KJV).

4. Increase assets especially in the area of real estate
And of Naphtali he said, O Naphtali, satisfied with favour, and full with the blessing of the LORD: possess thou the west and the south. (Deuteronomy 33:23, KJV).

5. Greater victories in midst of greater odds
For it was of the LORD to harden their hearts, that they should come against Israel in battle, that he might destroy them utterly, and that they might have no favour, but that he might destroy them, as the LORD commanded Moses. (Joshua 11:20, KJV).

6. Recognition even when you seem to be least likely to receive it
And Saul sent to Jesse, saying, Let David, I pray thee, stand before me; for he hath found favour in my sight. (1 Samuel 16:22, KJV).

7. Prominence and preferential treatment
And the king loved Esther above all the women, and she obtained grace and favour in his sight more than all the virgins; so that he set the royal crown upon her head, and made her queen instead of Vashti. (Esther 2:17, KJV).

8. Get petitions granted, even by ungodly civil authorities
If I have found favour in the sight of the king, and if it please the king to grant my petition, and to perform my request, let the king and Haman come to the banquet that I shall prepare for them, and I will do to morrow as the king hath said. (Esther 5:8, KJV).

9. Policies, rules, regulations, even walls, are changed or reversed to your advantage
And said, If it please the king, and if I have found favour in his sight, and the thing seem right before the king, and I be pleasing in his eyes, let it be written to reverse the letters devised by Haman the son of Hammedatha the Agagite, which he wrote to destroy the Jews which are in all the king’s provinces: (Esther 8:5, KJV).

10. Battles are won in which you won’t even have to fight because God will fight them for you
For they got not the land in possession by their own sword, neither did their own arm save them: but thy right hand, and thine arm, and the light of thy countenance, because thou hadst a favour unto them. (Psalms 44:3, KJV).
